Fire Learning Network

“Capturing Flames” was designed for a 2024 Fire Learning Network conference in Kentucky, where the panel highlighted means of educating the public about prescribed burns. The audience was familiar with common practices in performing prescribed burns and their benefits, but sought to learn how to educate their own audiences, in this case through the valuable practice of phone photography and understanding marketing terms to achieve quantitative outcomes. With this in mind, I aimed to highlight the photography captured during Greenville Water’s prescribed burning, with minimal visual concepts such as the rule of thirds and the golden ratio, with examples.
